LA Design Build

This West Hollywood Modern Residence was conceived as a sculptural architectural form rising from a complete teardown site — a study in proportion, contrast, and controlled restraint.

The exterior presents a confident composition of crisp white volumes, deep charcoal planes, and warm horizontal wood cladding. Each line was deliberate. Each mass intentional. The interplay of light and shadow across the façade shifts throughout the day, giving the structure movement without excess.

Expansive Fleetwood glazing dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior. Walls of glass frame sky and palm silhouettes, while natural light travels deep into the core of the home. Privacy is preserved. Openness is celebrated. The balance is precise.

Inside, the material palette becomes more intimate.

High-gloss white lacquer millwork reflects light like polished stone, amplifying scale and clarity. Dark oak wide-plank flooring introduces depth and grounded warmth beneath the modern envelope. Designer decorative tile selections punctuate the home with texture and curated detail — not ornamental, but intentional.

The entry sequence is designed as a moment. A custom waterfall feature introduces sound, movement, and a subtle sensory experience before the architecture fully reveals itself. It’s restrained luxury — not loud, not decorative — but quietly confident.

This residence was executed as a fully integrated design-build commission, where structure, finish, and proportion were developed in harmony. The result is a modern home that feels composed, architectural, and enduring.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this home different from a typical modern build?
This residence was approached as an architectural composition rather than a spec-style construction. Proportions, material contrast, and spatial flow were carefully calibrated to create a cohesive design language throughout.
Oversized Fleetwood glazing and strategic window placement allow natural light to penetrate deeply into the interior while maintaining privacy. The reflective millwork enhances brightness without overwhelming the space.
The interior is driven by contrast — glossy white lacquer against dark oak flooring, smooth architectural planes against textured tile surfaces. The materials were selected for longevity and visual clarity rather than trend appeal.
Yes. The project was executed under a unified design-build structure, allowing architectural decisions, structural execution, and interior detailing to remain aligned from demolition through completion.
