Inspired by Southern California’s sands, this Pied-e-Terre was reimagined in a combined effort between LADB and the design team at MMD, intermingling warm and organic materials, geometric shapes, and creamy warm hues throughout. With removed walls and oversized pocket doors, space allows for fluid movement through the master, into the living area spilling into the marina, and onto the sea. With exclusive warm earthy materials and artesian techniques, the master shower compliments the luxurious marbles allowing for a sense of calm and zen.

1. What was the design inspiration behind this project?

This space was inspired by a blend of serene coastal views and soft modern luxury. Natural light, warm textures, and clean architectural lines create a calm yet sophisticated atmosphere throughout.

2. What materials and finishes were used in the kitchen and bathrooms?

We used high-gloss cashmere lacquer cabinet doors and panels, fedora quartz countertops and backsplash, and custom floating vanities. Trimetric accent tile, integrated LED lighting, and a microcement-look finish completed the modern, seamless design.

3. Was the custom millwork included in the scope of work?

Yes, every detail—from the fluted coffee table and upholstered headboard wall to the built-in bench and illuminated closet cabinetry—was custom fabricated. Because we operate our own millwork shop, we’re able to design, build, and install with complete control over quality and precision.

What makes this space feel so calm, elevated, and effortless all at once?

It’s a mix of thoughtful layout, muted tones, layered textures, and custom lighting. Every detail was designed to feel intentional—soft under-cabinet glows, seamless surfaces, and clean lines all work together to create a quiet kind of luxury that feels as good as it looks.
